In 2024 I led the council to expand Alameda's Investment Policy to prohibit city funds from being invested in companies that profit from fossil fuels or weapons manufacturing.
The 2025-27 Bi-annual Budgetis balanced and uses available resources to support social service needs, public safety and infrastructure upgrades.
Alameda Point is changing as residents of deteriorating naval housing see their new housing under construction and unhoused individuals and families, along with vulnerable seniors and veterans, look forward to the opening of Alameda Housing Authority North Housing project later this summer.
Environmental protection
On the StopWaste board I develop and implement policies to help Alameda businesses, residents, and schools reduce waste, recycle properly, and use resources efficiently.
As a member of the board of Alameda County Healthy Homes I'm working to eradicate the lead-based paint that remains in many of Alameda's Victorian and Craftsman homes.
In June 2024 I joined all of my council colleagues in authorizing the purchase of two law enforcement drones, which will be used to respond to violent crime, disasters, and sideshows.
In March 2025 my colleagues voted in support of my initiative to establish red light cameras at certain intersections, making streets safer for pedestrians and bicyclists.
